We employ 42 500 people across five provinces. Most joined from towns within thirty kilometres of the shafts and pits they now run. We invest heavily in that pipeline — through bursaries, learnerships and portable skills training that stays useful long after a mine closes.

A two-year rotation across operations, processing and technical services for South African graduates in engineering, geology and metallurgy.
Engineering learnerships
Fully funded artisan training in fitting, boilermaking, electrical and diesel mechanics, with guaranteed placement on qualification.
Bursary scheme
Full-cost bursaries for students from our host communities studying mining-related degrees at South African universities.
